FIONIAVET Dermatophyte test.
Dermatophytosis, often called “ringworm”, is a cutaneous infection caused by different genera of fungi collectively called “dermatophytes”, meaning “plants that live on the skin”. The main fungi responsible for dermatophytosis in domestic animals are Microsporum, Trichophyton and Epidermophyton. These pathogenic fungi are found worldwide and are the most frequent cause of cutaneous mycosis in companion animals, as well as in humans.
This kit is intended for use as part of a differential diagnosis of dermatological conditions in dogs, cats and horses.
