Surgicutt Bleeding Time Device
Buccal mucosa bleeding time (BMBT) test
Fully automatic device for buccal mucosa bleeding time (BMBT) test in the gum, screening for primary hemostatic disorders of platelets and vessel wall dysfunction.
Procedure:
A tiny scalpel-like blade of a calculated depth is inside the plastic device. A push on the button fires the cutter at high speed and retracts it in the device. The calculated depth (1 mm) performs the cut above the nerve area, resulting in a quick and painless incision (unlike painful traditional lancets/ scalpels). Result, normal bleeding time: Dogs 1.7 to 4 min, Cats: 1 to 2.5 min. It also allows to detect bleeding problems before surgery and before diagnostic works-ups on high-risk breeds (Doberman, Boxer, Rottweiler)
To support the procedure, Surgicutt Bleeding Time Blotting Paper (522P) are disc-shaped, highly absorbent pads enclosed in a transparent protective shield. This shield improves visibility
while reducing the risk of operator exposure and cross-contamination, ensuring safe and hygienic sample collection.
