FioniaVet’s Rose Bengal eye test strips are simple, quick, and cost-effective diagnostic tools in veterinary ophthalmology. Unlike fluorescein eye strips, which detect corneal ulcers, Rose Bengal stains areas of cell degeneration and helps detect early-stage eye conditions.
These strips contain Rose Bengal dye, which stains areas of cell degeneration, making them useful for diagnosing and detecting early-stage ocular conditions.
After dripping a drop of saline on the strip, it is gently applied to the lower conjunctiva. The eye is then examined under a light source, and areas where the dye has adhered indicate damage or disease.
After testing the eye, the dye should be flushed out with sterile saline.
